Songs of the week: 6/1

"Uh Huh" by World's Fair

New York rap group World's Fair has a tour coming up with Two-9 and as a promotion for it they have released the song Uh Huh, 3 minutes of spitting from members Cody B. Ware and Prince SAMO. The looping of the beat and lyrics give the song a very 90s feel, something the group has had since they first came onto the scene in 2011.

"The Wind That Cried The World" by The Phantom Band

This is the first song I've heard by this group, and the first thing I noticed was how well they blended multiple genres together without it sounding too sloppy. listen & check out their newly released 'proto robofolk' album "Strange Friend".

"Viewpoint" & "Holiday Jonti" by Teebs
Brainfeeder released to tracks from label-mates Teebs new album "Estara" earlier this week. These two tracks are only a snippet of how good the album is, & I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for new music.

"My New Friend" - Carousel

This new song by Carousel is light, fun, and catchy. It's upbeat, and features nice melodies and synths that make it perfect for summer. Carousel is doing anything new with this song, but they're definitely doing it well. Its definitely worth the listen.

"They Come Not In Gold" by Shabazz Palaces

Experimental Hip-Hop group Shabazz Palaces has been on almost every music blog since their debut album "Black Up" in 2011. Fans have long waited for the follow-up album & it has become one of the most anticipated albums of the summer since it was announced by the group. Check out the single released by the groups label to get an idea of how the album will sound.
